This investigation aimed to determine the concentration of methylene blue using colorimetry, starting from an initial solution of 19.8 mg/L and creating two standard curves. The absorbance of the test sample was measured at 0.793, leading to a calculated concentration of 5.97 mg/L and a molar absorptivity of 38497 M⁻¹ cm⁻¹. The results indicated that the differences from literature values were due to the hygroscopic nature of commercial methylene blue, affecting the accuracy of the prepared solutions.
