The Magra is a 62-kilometer river that flows through northern Italy, including the provinces of Massa-Carrara and La Spezia. It had historically marked the eastern border of the region of Liguria and drains a basin of around 1,686 square kilometers. Its largest tributary is the Vara River, which joins the Magra within the commune of Santo Stefano di Magra.
