This project report describes steady state simulation of a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) system for producing ethyl benzene using Aspen Plus. The reaction of ethylene and benzene to produce ethyl benzene and diethyl benzene as a side product is examined. The effects of feed flow rate, reactor temperature, and reactor volume on conversion, yields, and diethyl benzene production are optimized. The optimum conditions are a temperature of 430K, reactor volume of 100m3, and feed flow rates of 0.4kmol/s
