What is TxDOT about?

The Supreme Court of Texas reviewed whether sovereign immunity was waived for a negligence claim and inverse condemnation claim against TxDOT. The court held that immunity was not waived for negligence because the plaintiffs did not show the tree removal workers were TxDOT employees or that TxDOT operated the equipment. However, immunity may be waived for inverse condemnation if TxDOT intentionally directed removal of trees outside its easement, so the court remanded that issue for further proceedings.
