Poblete alleged the deed signatures were forged. The courts ruled the deed was void for forgery. 3. While Land Bank claimed it acted in good faith as a mortgagee, the Supreme Court ruled Land Bank did not conduct proper due diligence and the mortgage was void since the title was void.
