The Battle of Hunain in 636 AD saw Prophet Muhammad and his 12,000 soldiers face an alliance of Bedouin tribes led by the Hawazin and Thaqif tribes in the Hunain valley. Though the Muslims were initially pushed back by arrows, Muhammad rallied his men, and with divine assistance defeated the tribes, capturing many prisoners and a large amount of livestock and goods as spoils of war. The battle strengthened early Muslim power in Arabia.
