What is Memristor: The Memory Resistor Explained about?

Memristors are two-terminal circuit elements that can remember the amount of charge that has previously flowed through them. Leon Chua theorized the existence of memristors in 1971 to complete a circuit element symmetry. A memristor works by varying its resistance based on the magnitude and duration of the voltage applied to it. It can store information at the nanoscale level in a crossbar architecture using a 40nm switch made of titanium dioxide.
