About this document

Periodontal Wound Healing Mechanisms by wiwied sambodo is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Periodontal wound healing is a complex process involving different tissues like cementum, bone, ligament, and epithelium. It proceeds through several phases of cellular activity, inflammation, proliferation, and maturation. Rapid re-epithelialization within hours protects against infection but can interfere with connective tissue regeneration by preventing ligament cells from reaching the root surface. While epithelium repairs quickly, connective tissue regeneration takes much longer, from 6 weeks to years.
