The Arduino WiFi Dual boards contain two processors - an ATMEGA chip and an ESP8266 WiFi chip. Code must be uploaded to both processors for them to function and communicate with each other using Serial commands. Dip switches on the board configure whether the USB can communicate with each processor individually for programming or whether the processors can communicate with each other.
