The study investigated the effects of varying levels of purified condensed tannins on the performance, blood profile, meat quality, and methane emissions in male Bapedi sheep fed a grass hay and pellet-based diet. Results showed that while the tannin supplementation did not significantly affect diet intake, digestibility, or blood components, it reduced methane emissions by 51 to 60% and increased antioxidant activity in the meat.
