What is Clippings 10 about?

This document analyzes the antigenic properties of different sublineages of avian influenza virus H5N1 that were co-circulating in Egypt from 2006 to 2011. The study found that at least four sublineages of H5N1 persisted in poultry in Egypt in 2011. Two of these sublineages showed antigenic drift compared to the others, and were antigenically distinguishable from each other. This suggests that non-cross-reactive H5N1 viruses were co-circulating in Egypt, indicating a problem with using a single virus strain
