The relationship between the classic Curie-Weiss law and the Barrett formula is discussed. In order to remedy obvious discrepancies a generalization of the Barrett formula is proposed. Introducing a new quantum temperature scale, the long-standing Barrett expression may be transformed into a Curie-Weisslike quantum power-law.
