What is Optimal Surface/diffusion-controlled Kinetics of Bimetallic Selenide Nanotubes for Hybrid Supercapacitors about?
The size of Ni x Co 1-x Se 2 nanotubes could be tuned by the feeding of Co 2+ . The introduction of Co ions adjusts the pseudocapacitive kinetics of Ni x Co 1-x Se 2 . The Ni x Co 1-x Se 2 electrode exhibits tunable rate capacity and cycling stability. The Ni 0.67 Co 0.33 Se 2 //AC HSC shows excellent electrochemical performance. ## g r a p h i c a l a b s t r a c t This study proposes a novel method to ease the sluggish electrochemical kinetics of Ni-based selenides by substituting Co ions in nickel selenide. Ni x Co 1-x Se 2 nanotubes were prepared using a typical two-step water thermal selenide method. In the first step, the diameter of the Ni-Co precursor nanorods decreased with the feed amount of Co 2+ , resulting in a decrease in the diameter and wall thickness of the Ni x Co 1-x Se 2 nanotubes in the second step. Through controlling the feed content of Co ions, the Ni-Co selenide nanotubes electrode achieves superior rate capacity, high specific capacitance, and excellent cycling stability.
