A study was conducted to measure dissolved oxygen (DO) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) levels in rivers flowing into Manila Bay in the Philippines. Results showed DO levels at the surface were adequate but over 50% of bottom water DO levels were very low, from 1-3 mg/L, which is stressful for marine life.
