About this document
PDS4 Data Processing Levels Explained by Mario D'Amore is a document available to read on EtoBox.
PDS has adopted a simplified system of 5 terms for classifying archival data by processing level: Telemetry, Raw, Partially Processed, Calibrated, and Derived. Telemetry refers to an encoded byte stream used to transfer instrument data. Raw data is the original data from an instrument. Partially Processed data has been processed beyond raw but not reached calibrated status. Calibrated data has been converted to physical units. Derived data results from one or more calibrated products, like maps or tables.
