The latest innovation in the patent foramen ovale (PFO) field is the NobleStitch EL. This deviceless, suture-based technique offers several advantages over traditional PFO closure devices.First, since there is no implant left behind, there is no risk of embolization, erosion, or device related thrombus on the left side.There is no device covering the fossa which could hinder future transeptal punctures.
