What is Rizal about?

Rizal was exiled to Dapitan in Mindanao by the Spanish authorities due to his writings that were critical of the Spanish colonization of the Philippines. During his 4 years in exile, he established schools, hospitals, infrastructure projects, and farms. He practiced medicine, taught various subjects, wrote poetry, and invented items. He lived a productive life until he was recalled to Manila to stand trial, where he was ultimately executed.
