What is Understanding Multilateration Techniques about?
Multilateration is a navigation technique that uses time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements from two or more stations to determine location. When the difference in arrival times between stations is plotted, it forms a hyperbolic curve showing possible locations. A second measurement from a different pair of stations forms a second curve, and where the curves intersect indicates the exact location. Loran-C was an early navigation system that used this technique with accuracy of about a quarter mile. M
