"In the second half of the 1940's a productive encounter took place in periodical publications of the time between the plastic arts and literature. This encounter led the way towards a new avant-garde aesthetic. The main thrust of the new aesthetic was to leave behind the preponderance of expressive elements in favor of pure invention. It is within this context that the journal CICLO appears, although its pages also dealt with topics of broader interest to the Americas, and included contemporary and international themes, as well as local production. Aldo Pellegrini, one of the periodical's founders, was the creator of Surrealism in Argentina." ABA Rare Book Fair London 2018
