What is Last Midnight: Witch about?

The baker, his wife, and their two children blame the witch for their misfortunes in the previous song. The witch sings to them, increasingly obsessed with the coming of the "last midnight" when her wish to be young will be fulfilled if she receives the boy. When they refuse, she grows angry. She throws her magic beans on the ground, renouncing her wish in her anger at being portrayed as the villain. She is then swallowed by the earth.
