This study investigates the energy absorption capabilities of a novel re-entrant auxetic structure compared to a traditional honeycomb structure using experimental and numerical methods. Results indicate that the auxetic structure absorbs at least 57.75% more energy than the honeycomb, with its performance influenced by geometric characteristics and material properties. The research highlights the potential of additive manufacturing in creating efficient energy-absorbing materials for various applications.
