The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme aims to provide clean cooking fuel (LPG) to low-income households by issuing new LPG connections to women from below poverty line families. The scheme provides a subsidy of Rs. 1600 for each new connection to help poor households switch from polluting fuels like firewood and cow-dung cakes.
