Three Portulaca species were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory properties using a carrageenan-induced rat paw edema model. Oral and intraperitoneal administration of 10% ethanolic extracts of Portulaca oleracea, Portulaca grandiflora, and Portulaca oleracea v. sativa at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg significantly reduced paw edema compared to the control, with effects comparable to diclofenac sodium.
