This document describes a study on the effects of adding Ba(Cu0.5W0.5)O3 (BCW) as a sintering aid on the sinterability and properties of (Ba0.85Ca0.15)(Ti0.90Zr0.10)O3 (BCZT) piezoelectric ceramics. The addition of BCW as a sintering aid was found to significantly lower the sintering temperature of BCZT ceramics from 1450°C to 1220°C, while improving density and piezoelectric, dielectric, and mechanical properties.
