The study exposed CZT detectors to proton irradiation to investigate how electron collection efficiency degrades with increasing radiation dose. Even at the highest dose of 3×1010 protons/cm2, annealing was able to recover detector performance. Analysis of detector signals as a function of interaction depth provided insights into increasing electron trapping probabilities with depth
