What is Airtel about?

Bharti Airtel is in talks to acquire Mumbai-based mobile operator Loop Mobile in a deal worth around Rs. 750 crore. This deal would provide Airtel an additional 3 million customers in Mumbai. Loop Mobile owns valuable 900MHz spectrum in Mumbai and has around 2,000 mobile towers, but also has debt of Rs. 400 crore. The acquisition of Loop Mobile would make Airtel the top operator by subscribers in the Mumbai market.
