This document describes an inflatable soft wearable robot designed to reduce therapist fatigue during upper extremity rehabilitation for severe stroke patients. The robot uses textile-based inflatable actuators anchored to the torso and arm via functional apparel to assist in elevating the arm. Preliminary testing on five stroke survivors showed increased range of motion and reduced muscular activity and cardiac effort for the therapist compared to a non-assisted condition.
