About this document
Copper by enggsantu is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The document summarizes a study that investigated the effect of adding copper on the wear and corrosion properties of in situ Mg2Si particle reinforced aluminum-silicon-magnesium composites. Composites containing 1%, 2%, and 4% copper were produced by casting. Microstructural analysis found that as copper content increased, the size and volume of Mg2Si particles decreased and CuAl2 intermetallics formed. Wear resistance increased under small loads but decreased under high loads with added copper. Corrosion
