What is Post-Gomecista Venezuela: 1936-1948 about?

The document describes the governments following the dictatorship of Juan Vicente Gómez in Venezuela between 1936-1945. The government of Eleazar López Contreras (1936-1941) opened up democratic space by freeing political prisoners and introducing reforms. Isaías Medina Angarita (1941-1945) continued to promote freedoms and allowed opposition parties. Both governments supported economic and social reforms. The three-year term of Acción Democrática (1945-1948) represented the end of gomecismo.
