1) 32 kg of monochlorobenzene was reacted with 38 kg of aluminum chloride at room temperature for 30 minutes and then cooled to 10°C. 2) A mixture of 15.6 kg of phenol and 8 kg of monochlorobenzene was added below 15°C and then cooled to 5°C. 3) 13.5 kg of acetyl chloride was added and the reaction was maintained for 6-10 hours at 10°C to produce 22.5 kg of para hydroxy acetophenone.
