This study compares the efficacy and toxicity of two induction chemotherapy regimens, TPF and TP, in patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LA-NPC). Results indicate that TPF provides a higher 5-year distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS) for stage IVA and N2-3 patients, while TP may be sufficient for stage III and N0-1 patients. Additionally, TPF is associated with more severe toxicities, but they are generally manageable.
