Arachidonic Acid and Seizure Risk in Diazepam Withdrawal by jamesjbp is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the role of the arachidonic acid cascade in the increased susceptibility to seizures induced by pentylenetetrazole during diazepam withdrawal in mice. The results show that the seizure threshold significantly decreases after diazepam discontinuation, which can be suppressed by phospholipase A2 and lipoxygenase inhibitors, but not by cyclooxygenase inhibitors. These findings suggest that the arachidonic acid cascade may enhance glutamatergic activity, contributing to hypersusceptibili
