What is Overview of Florante at Laura about?

Florante at Laura is considered one of the masterpieces of Philippine literature. It tells the story of Florante and Princess Laura of Albania and their love for each other amidst the oppression of the usurper Count Adolfo. The epic poem was written in 1838 by Francisco Balagtas during his imprisonment.
