What is Covenant of God with His People about?

The document describes how the people of Israel were chosen by God to establish a covenant and bear witness to His presence. God chose Israel and committed to keeping them as His people in exchange for their exclusive recognition of God and obedience to His commandments. Although the church is now the new people of God, the covenant is based on the same principles of God choosing and maintaining a people to bear witness to His presence through their obedience.
