About this document

Home Electrolysis of Water Setup by Jovit Doniña is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Electrolysis of water involves using electricity to split water into its constituent elements of hydrogen and oxygen gas. When a current is passed through water, hydrogen gas forms at the cathode and oxygen gas forms at the anode. For electrolysis to occur efficiently, an electrolyte such as an acid or base is typically added to increase the conductivity of the water. With sufficient voltage applied, usually around 1.23 volts, the water molecules are broken down into hydrogen and oxygen through a redox reac
