This document discusses fire retardancy of polypropylene composites filled with kaolinite and talc particles. Cone calorimeter tests showed that both kaolinite and talc provided reduction in peak heat release rate of polypropylene composites at loading amounts as low as 10% by weight. Higher loadings of 30% by weight provided around 70-80% reduction in peak heat release rate along with formation of char residue.
