What is Capitol Theater: Art Deco Legacy in Manila about?

The Capitol Theater in Escolta, Manila was designed by Philippine National Artist for Architecture Juan Nakpil and built in the 1930s with 800 seats. It had a double balcony, an art deco style facade with reliefs by Francesco Monti, and a mural in the lobby commissioned from another national artist, Victorio Edades. By 2008, only the facade remained as the rest of the theater was demolished after being used as a restaurant.
