Ca,,,Cu,,,PtO, was prepared and investigated by single crystal X-ray work. (Space group Ci-C12/ml; a = 9.0743; b = 9.2527; c = 6,4840 A; p = 91.448"; nal prisms of 02around Ca2'. Z = 4). The crystal structure of the previously unknown compound is closely related to the structure of Sr,PtCuO, and Sr,IrCuO, as well as the rhombohedra1 phases M,PtO, (M = Ba, Sr, Ca).
