This document describes a study that used a hydrothermal method to synthesize monodisperse tetragonal bipyramid-shaped NaLa(MoO4)2 nanocrystals and NaLa(MoO4)2:Eu3+ nanocrystals using an equimolar mixture of oleic acid and oleylamine as surfactants. The roles of oleic acid and oleylamine in controlling the crystallization and morphology of the nanocrystals are investigated.
