What is Establishing Reliable Minimum Count Size about?
This study investigates the relationship between the body size of pelagic Cladocera and various environmental variables in 42 lakes of the Muskoka-Haliburton region of Ontario, Canada. Findings indicate that larger Cladocera are associated with lower total phosphorus levels and smaller sizes correlate with higher dissolved organic carbon concentrations. The research suggests that cladoceran size can serve as an effective paleolimnological tool for assessing past environmental conditions.
