What is Eberhard Faber about?

Eberhard Faber filed a patent application on January 27, 1910 for an improved rubber eraser. The eraser has a thin rubber disk pivotally mounted in a metal holder. The pivot is located eccentrically so that portions of the rubber can be exposed for use or protected inside the holder. When in use, the thin metal side plates of the holder press against the rubber to prevent flexing. The patent was granted on July 8, 1913.
