What is Medical Parasitology Course Overview about?

Fasciola gigantica, or the giant liver fluke, is a trematode parasite commonly found in cattle and sheep in parts of Africa, America, Europe and Egypt. Its life cycle involves an intermediate host of the snail Lymnaea cailliaudi, and the adult fluke resides in the bile ducts of the liver of its definitive host, which can occasionally be humans. The large, flat, leaf-shaped adult fluke measures 6-15mm long and produces oval-shaped eggs that contain immature ovum and yolk cells.
