What is Boris Godunov : an opera in 4 acts with a prologue about?

Libretto by the composer. Cf. Loewenberg. Annals of opera "This translation is primarily designed to be used with the original version of the opera edited by Paul Lamm. It may also be used for performances of the Shostakovich version (which is an orchestration of the Lamm vocal score), and it may be easily adapted to fit the few changes of underlay contained in the Rimsky-Korsakov version."
