- An SSID is the name of a wireless network that devices see when connecting. Multiple networks can have unique SSIDs like "Student" or "Faculty" in one area. - A BSSID identifies individual access points and their associated clients. Each access point has its own BSSID based on its MAC address. This allows tracing packets within a network. - An ESS consists of multiple BSSs (basic service sets) within a full wireless network. The ESSID is similar to the SSID and identifies the whole network.
