1. Quintus was walking home after school when he witnessed a large crowd gathered around the theater of Pompey. He saw Julius Caesar enter with magistrates, wearing a purple toga and laurel crown. A senator attacked Caesar with a dagger while another grabbed his toga. Caesar was stabbed multiple times and died near the statue of Pompey. 2. The conspirators burst out of the theater shouting that the tyrant was dead and Rome was free. However, the crowd was silent and stunned. Quintus fled home in terror. 3.
