In 2000, Professor Bernie Warren began researching the effects of clown-doctors in hospitals in Windsor, Ontario and trained four students as clown-doctors. This led to the founding of Fools for Health in 2001 as the first clown-doctor program in Canada providing services at Windsor Regional Hospital. Over the next 13 years, Fools for Health expanded to additional hospitals and care facilities in the region and established several programs, gaining recognition and support from various foundations and awards
