This document summarizes a study on the radiation stability of polypropylene composites containing lead zirconate filler. Isothermal and non-isothermal chemiluminescence and FT-IR spectroscopy were used to analyze samples with 2 and 5 wt% lead zirconate after gamma irradiation. The results showed that the addition of lead zirconate improved the radiation stability of polypropylene by stabilizing the polymer matrix and decreasing its oxidation rate, even at 250 kGy irradiation.
