What is Slaughter House about?

The Punjab Animal Slaughter Control Act 1963 regulates the slaughter of animals in Punjab, with the Local Government & Community Development Department overseeing slaughterhouses. Recent amendments and notifications have shifted responsibilities and oversight from the Livestock & Dairy Development Department to the Local Government Department and the Punjab Food Authority. A committee has been formed to review the Act and propose amendments to ensure proper regulation and licensing of slaughterhouses.
