What is Muhammad Haji Salleh about?

The poet celebrates his Malay tradition by sowing seeds in the hope-filled bowl of his palms. He feels the seeds burst and slap his hands as yellow shoots creep into his blood, planting the seeds in his blood and sweet-salt morning earth. As he waits for the seeds to emerge from the earth-womb, he flows with the youth of his blood and falls in love with the seasons as evenings and mornings mature and penetrate his fruits, returning him to his new blood.
