EPCOS has developed a new ferrite material called N95 that has exceptionally low power loss. N95 offers a constant loss minimum of 310 kW/m3 over a broad temperature range of 60 to 100°C, which is 15 to 54% lower than conventional materials. It also has a high flux density of 525 mT at 25°C and 410 mT at 100°C. N95 is well-suited for power converters as it allows optimized efficiency even at partial load.
